Run the slideshow. Any that surprised you? How about other brands you are aware of and how they came to be named?

I loved the Red Hat and Blackberry histories. Good seed!

Thanks 'guru. Those two were also the only two where I had often wondered why the names. Red Hat's reason is just so - well, just is.
Had never seen that Firefox visual till now. Didn't register if it was part of their brand or imagery to support the slideshow. But highly visual and striking imagery.
And not being a Mac follower, I had never realised that X marked the Roman numeral. I think I would still plead ignorance and just announce it as X.

They didn't mention that Firefox was once Phoenix before it became Firebird!

HA 7th release of windoze my arse, its still 95SE with just a different GUI. Notice they are not even daring to claim 64 bit this time, Because they know that they cant do it without abandoning the 16 bit subsystem, and that would mean the death of windoze. No one would ever buy it again. Just another piece of obsolete junk with a badly written core, from an OS that was never meant to go online.
